To be one of the leading and distinguished main centers in providing academic programs and research activities in the fields of accounting and auditing in a manner that meets the market needs and is consistent with international and local quality standards.
Department Mission:
Providing the local and regional labour market with qualified graduates with the necessary academic knowledge and professional skills, preparing them to be able to possess the required expertise to engage in professional practice areas as certified accountants, adopting an appropriate research strategy to serve the local and regional community, and seeking to establish an effective relationship with the business environment and professional organizations responsible for the accounting and auditing profession.
Department Goals:
-1- Providing students with scientific and applied accounting knowledge to enable them to assume responsibility for the workload of the profession as accountants or auditors, in both the government sector and the business sector, based on the community's needs.
2 Supporting scientific and research production and other scientific activities of faculty members.
-3- Developing the department’s educational program curricula in line with developments in technical means.
4- Greater use of computers in teaching accounting information systems.
5- Raising the level of teaching performance in line with the aspirations and program's vision in the future by attracting distinguished scientific competencies.
6- Expanding the teaching of courses in English.
7- Encouraging authership, publishing and translation to update books and necessary references for the department’s courses.
8- Encouraging scientific research and academic writings, and increasing the channels for publishing such research and writings.
9- Holding scientific seminars and conferences, and encouraging faculty members to attend and participate in them.
-10 Exchange of scientific visits among professors at different universities, develop the department’s library, and provision with modern references and periodicals.

1- Knowledge of the foundations and principles of accounting in public and private enterprises.
2. Knowing the interactions between the business environment and both accounting and auditing.
3 - Familiarity with the most important recent topics in the field of accounting information systems to improve the quality of accounting information.
4- Familiarity with current developments affecting the auditing profession and the quality of the auditing process.
5- Familiarity with the professional practice of internal and external auditing.
6. The student must understand and be familiar with the basics and principles of scientific research.
B- Intellectual Abilities
1- Developing skills and abilities to analyze accounting problems
2- Using quantitative methods in accounting
