Dept. Vision:

The department seeks to be a leading, accredited, local and regional center for providing education, research, consultation and training services in the field of therapeutic nutrition and its techniques.

Department Mission:

Providing the local and regional market with specialized competencies in therapeutic nutrition by providing an educational and research environment committed to quality standards, stimulating creativity and innovation in acquiring knowledge and skills, providing research, and consultations to contribute to the development of food therapy and healthy nutrition for the local and regional community.

The program’s Relationship to the university’s Mission:

The Therapeutic Nutrition Program is one of the programs offered by the college. Therefore, their vision, mission, and goals are leadership and excellence to qualify a generation capable of keeping pace with all developments in the service of their community.

Department Goals:

1- Graduating qualified cadres capable of effectively contributing to serving the community in the field of therapeutic nutrition.

2- Providing consultations in the field of food and therapeutic nutrition as an accredited center at the republic level.

3- Contributing to providing research to improve healthy eating habits across the country.
4 - Developing foods that contribute to establishing healthy nutrition for patients with different medical conditions.
5- Achieving community partnership with entities concerned with healthy nutrition.

6- Establishing a partnership with scientific departments and research institutions in the field of food and therapeutic nutrition at the regional and international levels.

7- Disseminating health culture in the field of food and therapeutic nutrition with all concerned parties locally, regionally and internationally.

8. Holding scientific conferences, events and activities in the field of food and therapeutic nutrition. Providing the infrastructure and teaching and research environment capable of achieving the department’s objectives.

Program Information (Curriculum):

Program Name:

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition.

Total credit hours to complete the program.

155 hours distributed over 8 semesters.

The qualification (certificate) that the student obtains upon completion of the program.

Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition for four years

Professions or jobs for which the student is qualified

Job opportunities are available for graduates of the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition as a nutritionist, specialist or nutrition consultant in each of:

1- Government and private health sectors such as hospitals and primary health care centers.

2- health nutrition centers, whether governmental or private.

3 Professional institutions, social care homes, and people with special needs.

4 Universities (in colleges, research centers and university hospitals).

5. Health services in educational institutions and nutritional education programs in schools.
6. Food companies concerned with diets and therapeutic nutrition.

7- Public health and environmental services sectors, and local and regional health organizations.
