Program Mission
The mission of the Master in therapeutic Nutrition is to providing students diverse learning opportunities through effective academic program , understanding of research methods, opportunity of research , and to develop competent graduates with acquaint them with recent developments in research and trends and issues in the field of the diet, health, and nutritional needs for local and regional communities.
Program Objectives
1. Provide the country’s need for nutritional and dietetic professionals to provide excellent nutrition services and preventive programs according to international standards.
2. Offer the needs of the health and educational institutions in Yemen for Nutritionists and Dietitians with advanced qualifications
3. Analysis nutrition situations to address gaps and opportunities in improving nutrition status and diet-related practices.
4. Enable students to gain the Nutritional competencies to evaluate, synthesize and/or use research data in professional nutrition and diets practice.
5. Provide opportunities for students to interact with faculty and students from other related disciplines and gain an appreciation for the collaborative nature of related professions.
6. Enable student to apply scientific appropriate research methodologies to design, analyze, and evaluate issues related to nutrition.
Program graduate specifications:
1. Performs the process of diagnosis, analysis and intervention for nutritional cases, especially vulnerable groups.
2. Integrates psychological, social and economic aspects individually or collectively in a way that benefits the field of therapeutic nutrition for society.
3. Uses food and nutrition in the field of health and disease and promotes individual health.
4. Benefits from critical thinking skills in searching for solutions to nutritional problems using scientific methods.
5. Acquires the experiences and skills that must be applied in the field of therapeutic nutrition.
6. Uses available resources efficiently in applying the foundations of scientific research to develop the field of therapeutic nutrition.
7. Communicates efficiently with all departments and entities concerned with therapeutic nutrition.
8. Works to spread the culture of therapeutic nutrition in society.
