The Distance Education Center was established after considering:
Law No. (32) for the year 2000 AD amending some articles of the Republic of Yemen resolution by Law No. (18) for the year 1995 AD regarding Yemeni universities and its amendments.
Republic of Yemen resolution, Law No. (13) for the year 2005 AD regarding universities, higher institutes and private colleges.
The resolution of the University Council in the minutes of its meeting to approve the adoption of the regulations governing the tasks and specializations of the Distance Education Center at Al-Saeed University.
And based on the assigment of the University Council to the head of the Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit, and the Distance Education.
Project Study Committee to review the draft regulation organizing the tasks and terms of reference of the Distance Education Center proposed by the committee.

Our vision is leadership and excellence at the local and regional levels in providing high-quality electronic educational services that keep pace with the characteristics of the times and meet the standards of academic accreditation and quality assurance.
The Mission
The mission of the Distance Education Center is represented in continuous pursuit and effective work in achieving excellence, leadership in e-learning practices, and distance education for the purpose of positive competition locally and regionally. The center is in charge of maintaining the prestigious position of the university through the continuous development of E-learning and distance education programs by means of modern technologies in the field of distance education for each of the academic leadership, faculty, and students, each in his/her field.
The general objectives of the distance education center.
The Distance Education Center aims to achieve the following goals:
1. Providing university education opportunities for those who have been denied access to due to their social, occupational or geographical conditions.
2. Benefiting from modern technology in applying various technical methods of education such as image, audio, video and interactive materials.
3. Providing distance education systems (e.g., LMS), satellite channels and the Internet.
4. Providing systems for interacting with students, such as the virtual classroom and electronic forums.
5. Producing educational materials of a high technical level that target the quality of education outcomes.
6. Providing training programs related to the education process and the development of digital materials and their use for each of the faculty members, students and administrators.
7. Applying the concept of quality in line with international scientific standards.
8. Conducting research and measurements necessary to develop the educational process remotely.
9. Taking part in meeting the needs of societies by preparing qualified resources and advancing development.
10. Developing the spirit of complementary partnership with higher education institutions.
11. Providing the opportunity for for-good education.
