Al-Saeed University witnesses the launch of the national classification of Yemeni universities

Today, Al-Saeed University witnessed the launch of the first session of the national classification of Yemeni universities in Taiz. The classification committee was received by Professor Dr. Sameh Al-Ariqi, President of the University, Advisor to the President of the University, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs, Secretary-General of the University, Deans of Colleges, Heads of Departments and faculty members. While the classification committee was composed of Dr. Lotfi Khanbari, Director General of Private Higher Education Institutions, Dr. Lotfi Qais, Director General of Governmental Higher Education Institutions, and Mr. Muhammad Abdul-Wasie, Advisor to the Minister for Educational Affairs.
It is worth noting that the national classification of Yemeni universities is considered the greatest achievement and the first classification activity for Yemeni universities in the history of higher education. The project began preparations in 2018, and experts from several public and private universities, in addition to the ministry, participated in determining the classification criteria, in partnership with the Aoun Foundation for Development and the Jordanian Masa Company. The first classification guide was then created, and then the platform for uploading universities data for classification was opened, and training workshops were held for liaison officers from various universities to upload universities data to the platform.
This qualitative and major achievement achieved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research comes as a result of the transformation and development witnessed by the ministry during the tenure of His Excellency the Minister, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi, which will contribute significantly to developing the performance of Yemeni universities, higher education and scientific research in Yemen.
At the conclusion of the launch event, Professor Dr. Sameh, President of the University expressed his happiness and pride that this major event was launched at Al-Saeed University. The ministry chose Al-Saeed University to launch the work on the national classification of Yemeni universities in the first session due to the university's great advantages and capabilities, especially in light of its strategic transformation, to be one of the universities that establish this important path in the history of universities and the ministry in yemen
