Launching the Fourth Scientific Conference on Laboratory Diagnostic Medicine at Al-Saeed University

The activities of the Fourth Scientific Conference on Laboratory Diagnostic Medicine were launched today at Al-Saeed University with wide participation from various Yemeni governorates, which will continue during the period from January 15 to 16, 2025.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Sameh Al-Ariqi, President of Al-Saeed University, welcomed the participants, conveying the greetings of Professor DeA  rham Abdo Saeed, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hayel Saeed Anam Group and Partners - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Saeed University to the participants in the conference, stressing that Al-Saeed University's hosting of this event comes from its social responsibility and its mission to encourage scientific research, support creative and innovative activities, and contribute to serving the community to achieve sustainable development. Professor Al-Ariqi pointed out that Hayel Saeed Anam Group and Partners supported the university's strategic transformation project towards leadership and excellence locally and regionally, which necessitated restructuring academic programs, developing specializations, improving the efficiency of the administrative and academic staff, modernizing the infrastructure and equipment, digital transformation, and automating financial, administrative, and academic operations.  He also expressed his happiness that Al-Saeed University is hosting and sponsoring this event, stressing that the university is on the verge of a radical transformation in expansions and integrated infrastructure with international specifications.

For his part, the First Deputy Governor of Taiz, Dr. Abdul Qawi Al-Mikhlafi, conveyed the greetings of the Governor, Mr. Nabil Shamsan, to the members of the forum and participants, praising the role of Al-Saeed University as one of the most important private universities in hosting this event. Al-Mikhlafi pointed out that the conference, which brings together an elite group of consultants, researchers, specialists and those interested in the field of laboratory diagnostic medicine from Taiz and several Yemeni governorates, is being held for the first time in Taiz after a decade of stoppage. He stressed that this event represents an unprecedented opportunity to enhance the knowledge of participants and direct attention

towards this important specialization in light of the current challenges.

 The opening ceremony also witnessed the delivery of a number of speeches that indicated the importance of the Fourth Conference on Laboratory Diagnostic Medicine and what it represents in light of the current situation that Yemen is still experiencing and the importance of integration between laboratory medicine and medicine in general.  The conference discussed a number of worksheets in its first day's business sessions. The first session dealt with blood diseases and blood banks, the second session dealt with microbiology, immunology and parasites, while the third session dealt with microbiology and immunology. The first day's sessions concluded with a session on biochemistry and quality control.

The opening of the event was attended by Dr. Elan Abdul Haq, Deputy Governor for Health Affairs, Professor Dr. Adam Al-Shamiri, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Al-Saeed University, Dr. Nashwan Mujmar, President of Al-Jazeera University, a large number of officials, researchers and those interested in laboratory diagnostic medicine, a number of faculty members in private and public universities and university students.
